One more shot dead in gangwar

DHANBAD: The ongoing war of attrition between two gangs of Mohammed Faheem and Mohammed Shabir of wasseypur locality of the district has claimed yet another life. Mohammed Zafar Ali (40), a contractor by profession, was shot dead at his wasseypur residence on Tuesday. The deceased was said to be the main financier of Shabir gang.

sensing danger, ali tried to hide inside the toilet but the assailants chased him and shot him twice with a 9 mm automatic pistol. ali's younger brother and his servant escaped unhurt as they hid themselves inside a room. the news of ali's killing spread like a wild fire and the shopkeepers of the locality downed their shutters immediately in anticipation of retaliation by the rival gang. the police have cordoned off the area in search of the killers. a large contingent of police force has been deputed at the house of faheem to restrain the agitated supporters of shabir from attacking faheem's family members. earlier, on may 12, shabir was attacked by members of the faheem gang and faheem's sister-in-law shama parveen was shot at by shabir's men. she was rushed to bokaro general hospital in a precarious condition where the doctors managed to save her life. zafar ali was one of the named accused in this case. tension prevails in the area and senior police officers were camping there to prevent any untoward incident. more than a dozen persons have lost their life in this gangwar so far. while faheem is still languishing in jail, shabir is said to be out on bail.
