Notorious gangster arrested

The police on Wednesday arrested a notorious gangster, Dhruv Singh, from Pachrukhi village under Bheldi police station in Saran district.

CHHAPRA: The police on Wednesday arrested a notorious gangster, Dhruv Singh, from Pachrukhi village under Bheldi police station in Saran district.
Police said acting on the directive of Saran SP A K Satyarthi, a police team led by Marhaura SDPO Dilnawaz Ahmad carried out raid at Pachrukhi and arrested the gangster.
The SDPO said that Singh was evading arrest in connection with 15 cases of loot, dacoity and Arms Act.

He said that the gangster was earlier sent to jail, and he was released only recently from there. "Since a warrant of arrest was pending against him in connection with the loot of a motorcycle, he was arrested," he said.
Dilnawaz said that Singh entered the crime world in 1998 and had told the police during interrogation that he wanted to become a mukiya hence took to crime.
In another incident, one, Virendra Rai, was arrested by Marhaura police in connection with theft of a luxury vehicle from New Delhi in 2008.
Dilnawaz said that Rai, a resident of Tejpurwa under Marhaura police station, worked in Kolkata. He later reached New Delhi and stole a luxury vehicle from there and brought it to Chhapra, the SDPO said.
The SDPO said that when Saran police came to know about the incident, they seized the stolen vehicle and informed their counterparts in New Delhi. He said that a Delhi police team reached Chhapra and took the vehicle from there. The SDPO said that though Rai had been evading arrest for the past three years, police arrested him on Wednesday.
