PATNA: BJP national general secretary and incharge of the party's Bihar affairs Vinod Tawde on Saturday said considering the performance of PM Narendra Modi over the last nine years, the opposition parties will be "totally finished" in the 2024 parliamentary elections.

He appealed to the state BJP netas to actively engage in the monthlong mega mass contact programme that the PM will launch on May 30 to celebrate the nine-year work done by his government. The programme will conclude on June 30.

Tawde, who was addressing the state executive committee meeting of the party here, said the BJP workers would inform people about the achievements of the PM and seek feedbacks from them. "The BJP-led NDA will return to power in 2024," Tawde said. Party's national secretary Rituraj Sinha presented the details of the mega mass contact programme.

This was the first state executive committee meeting of BJP held under the new state chief of the party Samrat Choudhary. The meeting was supposed to be held on the premises of Urja Bhavan, but the application submitted for it was rejected on Friday.

Prominent among those who participated in the meeting were party's co-incharges Harish Dwivedi and Sunil Oja, state organization general secretary Bhikhubhai Dalsania, Union ministers R K Singh, Nityanand Rai and Ashwini Kumar Choubey, former Union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Radha Mohan Singh, RS MP Sushil Kumar Modi, former deputy CMs Tarkishore Prasad and Renu Devi, former state president Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal and leader of opposition in the state assembly Vijay Kumar Sinha.
