Nitish rolls out scheme for elderly people to get medical aid at home
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Saturday announced the rollout of a unique scheme aimed at providing healthcare facilities to elderly persons at their doorsteps.
In a detailed post on X, the CM wrote, “Our effort is to ensure that essential health services, including facilities of nursing assistance, pathology tests at home, blood pressure checks, ECG tests, physiotherapy and other types of medical assistance in emergency situations, are available to needy senior citizens of the state at their homes when needed.”
“We directed the health department to work rapidly to ensure that all the above health-related facilities are available to the senior citizens of the state at their homes,” Nitish said in the post.
“Ever since our (NDA) govt came to power in the state on Nov 24, 2005, we worked for the upliftment of all sections of society and the development of every sector while following the principle of ‘development with justice.’ We considered the entire Bihar as our family and took full care of everyone’s dignity and respect. Now we have seriously started work to ensure that people of every section of society in the state can lead their lives easily with respect,” the CM said in the opening paragraph of his post, written in Hindi.
“We implemented the programmes of ‘Saat Nishchay-3’ for the years 2025 to 2030 to include the state in the category of the most developed states of the country. The objective of the seventh resolution, ‘Sabka Samman-Jeevan Aasan’ (Ease of Living), of ‘Saat Nishchay-3’ is to reduce the difficulties in the lives of all citizens of the state and make their lives even easier,” he said.
“It is also necessary to identify what other facilities can be provided to make the lives of the state’s senior citizens easier. In this regard, if you wish to give any specific suggestions, you can submit your valuable suggestions through email or by post,” Nitish appealed to the general public.
The state cabinet recently gave its nod to the rollout of ‘Saat Nishchay-3’ for the next five years, from 2025 to 2030, with the objective of including Bihar among the developed states of the country.
“We directed the health department to work rapidly to ensure that all the above health-related facilities are available to the senior citizens of the state at their homes,” Nitish said in the post.
