Expressing his anguish over delay in the arrest of culprits in the
Lankesh murder case
, Nitish said it is a total failure of the state government.
“What has happened in
Gauri Lankesh case? Is there any news about the arrest of any culprit? I'am not getting any news about any arrest," he asked.
The Bihar CM also said if such an incident had happened in Bihar, all hell would have broken loose. "But today, no one including the media is questioning the Karnataka government in Gauri Lankesh case," he added.
Nitish was talking to media after his weekly 'Lok Samvad' programme at the CM house in Patna.
Simultaneous pollsWhile responding to another question, the Bihar CM also supported the view of PM Narendra Modi saying, holding
simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and state assemblies is, in principle, "a very correct policy ".
He said simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and state assemblies will give maximum time for work and delivery to any elected government.
He favoured holding of simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha, state assemblies, all panchayati raj institutions and urban local bodies. He said, elections to all those bodies which complete their terms in five years should be held simultaneously. He, however, rules out mid-term poll in Bihar.
