KISHANGANJ/ARARIA: Former CM
Nitish Kumar, on the 10th day of his ‘sampark yatra’ at Kishanganj, said he fulfilled all his promises, including an agriculture college and 22-hour uninterrupted power supply to Kishanganj. “Not only that, I had promised to set up a unit of
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and I did it,” he said.
“I have done what I have promised, and do not make false promises to the people,” he told his party cadres and activists on Saturday.
Reminding the party activists of his promise not to come back seeking their votes if power was not brought to every village in
Bihar by 2015, Nitish CM said, “Already 20,000 villages across the state have been electrified.”
Pulling punches on PM Narendra Modi on the slogan of retrieving black money stashed in foreign bank, Nitish, while playing on the tape records of Modi’s election speeches, said, “The government has not only miserably failed on this count, but has rather put egg on its face.” He said, “Narendra Modi promised to bring back the black money in 100 days if voted to power, but, there was no trace of it even after 175 days being at the helms.”
Addressing the JD(U) workers at Netaji Subhash Stadium in Araria, the former CM again targeted the Centre led by PM Narendra Modi. He said the false promises made by BJP stalwarts are being exposed and urged party workers to remain cautious as the BJP has acquired specialization in propagating falsehood and rumour.
Nitish also charged the Centre with not providing enough fund to the state government. He said the allotment under national schemes, including Indira Awas Yoja and MNREGA, has been curtailed.
The NDA government at the Centre is pro-traders and does not work for the welfare of farmers, Nitish said.
