On Sunday evening, Kumar will garland the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar near the Bagaha sub-divisional office. He will also interact with members of the ST community at Valmiki Chowk, located near the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) camp. Later, he will hold a meeting with key party leaders and stay overnight at a convention centre in Valmikinagar.
The second day of the yatra will begin with a jungle safari in the Valmiki Tiger Reserve (VTR), followed by a floral tribute to Maharshi Valmiki. Kumar will then attend a meeting at the convention centre before proceeding from Bagaha to Bettiah, addressing party workers and conducting outreach programmes along the route.
A public meeting and organisational review session are scheduled in Bettiah on Monday afternoon. Kumar is expected to return to Patna later in the evening.
Security arrangements have been intensified for the visit. Bagaha Superintendent of Police Kumari Nirmala confirmed that elaborate measures are in place. “Nishant Kumar has been provided ‘Z’ category security, and all necessary precautions are being taken,” she said.
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar described the yatra as a symbolic political journey. He said the party is moving forward with “a new attitude, a new look, and a new leader,” calling Nishant Kumar the future of the organisation.
He also drew parallels with Mahatma Gandhi, highlighting Kumar’s simple lifestyle, disciplined approach, and emphasis on dialogue-driven public engagement.
