NIA raids Maoists’ hideouts in 6 Bihar districts

PATNA

: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday raided several hideouts of five Maoists and their accomplices in Arwal, Aurangabad, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nalanda and Nawada districts in connection with a terror funding case.

According to sources, arms, ammunition, Maoist literature, digital devices and some incriminating documents were seized during the raids which were conducted in coordination with local police, Special Task Force and Central Reserve Police Force personnel.

ADG (headquarters) Jitendra Singh Gangwar has confirmed that the raids were conducted by the NIA personnel in several districts of Bihar. Sources said the NIA personnel raided the hideouts of Sahdeo Yadav, a notorious Maoist from Sampat Bigha village under the Sildala police station area in Nawada district.

The NIA searched the house of two more Maoists –

Pramod Mishra

and Anil Yadav – at Kasma and Bandeya villages. Mishra is the top leader of CPI Maoist and is also said to be a member of its politburo. He was the founder member of MCC in Bihar. He was arrested in Ranchi a few years ago and acquitted by the court in all the old cases. However, he was accused in some recent cases of police-Maoist encounters.
