NDA to sweep polls in state, claims Shah
Patna: Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday said there is no challenge in Bihar. “The sky looks clear and the NDA will have the best results in Bihar so far in 2025,” he said.
Shah, who arrived in Patna on a three-day visit and held a meeting with BJP officials to take feedback on assembly election preparations, will address intellectuals and launch an election campaign in the state on Friday.
Responding to a question on the next NDA CM, Shah said, “Who am I to decide it? NDA partners will decide who will be the next Bihar CM.”
The home minister said the BJP believes in alliance dharma. “Last time also, Nitish ji called the PM and said since BJP had more MLAs, it should have its CM and he will support the govt. But PM Modi honoured his seniority and commitment. We are contesting the election under the leadership of Nitish Kumar,” he said.
Commenting on the confusion in the Mahagathbandhan over seat-sharing, Shah said, “Congress has always humiliated small parties. Congress is nowhere in 50% of the country, including big states like UP and Bihar.”
On the issue of infiltrators, he said, “The NDA govt will detect, delete their names from voter list and deport the infiltrators.”
Shah also took a dig at RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s “baseless” promise of providing jobs to every family if voted to power. “There are 2.6 crore families in Bihar. The govt will need an average Rs12 lakh crore on payment of salary @39,000 per month while the entire state budget is around Rs3.17 lakh crore. Where will he get the money from?” he asked.
Clarifying the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, Shah said, “We have provided the seed money only. Banks will provide loans on the basis of their business and performance.”
