BIHARSHARIF: With the arrest of two more accused on April 22 identified as Bablu Kumar and Sajan Kumar, Nalanda police have so far arrested four of the seven accused who had sexually ravaged a minor school girl, a Class X student in Biharsharif on April 18.
Within 12 hours of the incidence, police arrested the mastermind of the gang-rape Rajnikant Trivedi alias Santu, a resident of village Utarthu under Bind police station (PS) area in Nalanda, who had taken the girl, resident of a village under the same PS and an acquaintance, to an underconstruction building in Naisarai locality under Biharsharif Town PS area, where he along with his six accomplices brutally raped the minor, 17, on April 18.
On suspicion, local residents raided the house but the accused managed to escape leaving the girl unconscious and profusely bleeding. A cousin of Rajnikant and an accused in the case Nilesh Trivedi alias Nilu was also arrested on April 19.
The local residents informed police, who admitted her to Biharsharif sadar hospital for treatment and medical examination. The report of the medical examination, which was conducted on the survivor on April 18 and was made available on Tuesday left every one dumbfounded, as it suggested that the survivor was not raped and only a rape attempt was made on her despite its observation that the hymen of the survivor was found ruptured with pregnancy negative. Reacting to the medical results, DSP (law and order) Sanjay Kumar said this will weaken the case and added they will request the authorities for a second medical test on the survivor. While the family of the survivor has demanded medical test in Patna.
The survivor in her statement recorded under section 164 of CrPC before a judicial magistrate on April 21 accused the arrested ones and three others including Suraj alias Nepi of village Pandit Nagar under Ben PS area, Abhiskek alias Bhosa of village Toral Bigha under Silao and Malo, a resident of village Patuana under Biharsharif PS area, of having raped her on April 18 and added she will recognize them.
