Nalanda declares no-flying zone for drones during governor's visit for World Peace Pagoda anniversary

Patna: In view of governor Arif Mohammed Khan’s scheduled participation in the 56th anniversary celebrations of World Peace Pagoda in Rajgir on Saturday, the Nalanda district administration has declared the entire town area a ‘no-flying zone’ for drones.

Nalanda district magistrate (DM) Kundan Kumar, exercising powers under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code-2023, issued the order, effective from 9am on Oct 24 to 7pm on Oct 25.

According to an official statement, under the Drone Rules-2021, the area has been declared a ‘Red Zone’, imposing a complete ban on all types of drones, including unmanned aerial vehicles. “However, if there is a necessity to operate a drone, individuals must obtain permission from the competent authority and inform the DM,” it read.

Violators of this order will face action under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code-2023. The district administration has sent copies of the order to the subdivisional officer, SDPO and SHO of Rajgir. The superintendent of police, Nalanda, will oversee the implementation of this order.
