Nalanda administration reviews law and order, anti-corruption measures
Biharsharif: A high-level meeting, jointly chaired by Nalanda district magistrate Kundan Kumar and superintendent of police Bharat Soni, was held here on Saturday evening to review law and order as well as anti-corruption measures in the district.
The meeting assessed the overall security scenario with a focus on strengthening public safety, curbing criminal activities, and enhancing transparency and accountability in governance. Officers reviewed pending cases, conditions in sensitive pockets, emerging crime patterns, and the effectiveness of ongoing interventions.
The DM directed officials to intensify field inspections and ensure time-bound disposal of public grievances. Stressing strict adherence to transparency in the implementation of govt schemes, he warned that any form of negligence or irregularity would invite firm action.
Sub-divisional officers were instructed to conduct sustained enforcement drives through district task forces at RTPS centres, the sadar hospital, registration offices, mining establishments, and public distribution system outlets to identify and act against touts and intermediaries. The administration also emphasised improving basic facilities for citizens visiting govt offices, including seating arrangements, drinking water, and sanitation, along with swift grievance redressal.
Priority has been assigned to clearing pendency in birth and death certificate applications and expediting revenue cases. Directions were also issued to ensure that panchayat govt buildings remain fully functional and that village-level camps are organised regularly to address local grievances.
The SP called for heightened surveillance in vulnerable areas, strengthened patrolling, and decisive action against anti-social elements. Station house officers were directed to ensure prompt, impartial handling of complaints while maintaining a citizen-friendly approach.
The meeting concluded with a call for greater inter-departmental coordination, stronger intelligence gathering, and sustained vigilance to ensure an effective law-and-order framework and reinforce public confidence.
