Nadda warns against return of ‘jungle raj’, slams RJD
Begusarai: BJP national president J P Nadda on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the RJD and Congress while addressing an election rally at Barauni in support of party candidate Rajnish Kumar, who is contesting from the Teghra assembly constituency.
Urging voters not to be misled by what he called hollow promises, Nadda warned against a return of the RJD’s ‘jungle raj’, recalling past incidents that he said symbolised lawlessness during their rule.
He cited an incident during RJD’s regime, claiming that “lumpens had lifted vehicles from a showroom in Patna on the occasion of Misa Bharti’s marriage.” The BJP president alleged that “an RJD leader raped the wife of even an IAS officer and no action was taken against him during the jungle raj.”
“The RJD has given a glimpse of its misrule by giving a party ticket to the dreaded Shahabuddin’s son, Osama, from Siwan,” Nadda said. “RJD stands for Rangdari, Jungleraj and Dadagiri,” he added, urging voters to reject the party.
Nadda accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of being “ill-mannered” and making “insolent and outrageous remarks” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He contrasted the NDA’s record with that of its rivals, saying that under CM Nitish Kumar and PM Modi, Bihar had witnessed all-round development. “The NDA is focused on development, while the Congress and RJD are busy developing their own families,” he said.
Continuing his attack, Nadda accused both parties of dynastic politics. “In the Congress, Sonia Gandhi is promoting her son Rahul Gandhi to become the PM, while in the RJD, Lalu Prasad is doing everything possible to make his son Tejashwi the CM,” he said.
Nadda further alleged that leaders such as Lalu, Rabri, Tejashwi, and Misa Bharti, along with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, “are either convicted in corruption cases or out on bail and cannot think of the welfare of the common people.”
