Muzaffarpur woman killed over land row

PATNA: A 32-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her stepfather and brother over a land dispute at Mohanpur village in Turki police outpost (OP) area under Kishunpur Madhuban panchayat in Muzaffarpur district on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Anjali Kumari, daughter of Shambhu Choudhary. However, both accused have been arrested in this case, police said on Saturday.

According to police, the incident took place when Anjali was sleeping in her house after having dinner. His stepfather, Dilip Choudhary and brother Raja Choudhary came in her room and started beating Anjali, and later allegedly stabbed her with a knife.

“The deceased’s mother has filed a complaint against Dilip and his son Raja for allegedly killing Anjali over ancestral property,” said Ravi Prakash, Turki police outpost in-charge. Prakash further said that Anjali had come home recently.
