The government has also promoted four IPS officers to DIG rank and shifted Patna zonal IG Nayyar Hasnain Khan to Muzaffarpur. Sunil Kumar will replace Khan, according to a notification issued here on Friday. ADG (law & order) Alok Raj has been posted as DG (training). He will also hold the additional charge of DG, Bihar Police Academy, at Rajgir in Nalanda. He was promoted to DG-rank on February 6. Amit Kumar will be ADG (law & order). IPS officers Prakash Nath Mishra, Ravindra Kumar, Parvez Akhtar and Rajeev Ranjan were promoted to the DIG rank.
Nalanda SP Sudhir Kumar Podika has been made SP, Special Task Force. He will replace Nilesh Kumar, who has been sent to Nalanda as SP. Abhinav Kumar, assistant to IG (railway), has been made City SP (west) in Patna. He replaced Ravindra Kumar.
SP (Patna rural) Anand Kumar will be commandant of BMP-7 in Katihar while Sanjay Kumar Singh replaced Kumar in Patna. Singh, a newly promoted IPS officer, was earlier superintendent of rail police (SRP) in Muzaffarpur.
On Thursday, the government also appointed retired DG Ravindra Kumar as chairman of Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC).
