Muskan & Abhinav shine in speech, poetry contests
PATNA: Muskan of New Era School and Abhinav Anand of St Karen’s High School (SKHS) won a speech and poetry recitation contest organized by SKHS as part of a Hindi Pakhwara Utsav on Wednesday.
In the speech competition, Ritika of Notre Dame Academy and Kaushiki Chauhan of SKHS shared the second prize while Khushi of Krishna Niketan stood third. The consolation prize was given to Tanya Kumari of SKHS and Vishnu Upadhyaya of Army Public School.
The second and third prizes in the poetry recitation contest were bagged by Palak Ambast of SKHS and Shruti Priya of NDA respectively. Shanu Raj and Divankar of SKHS and Shrishti Tripathi of Radiant International School got the consolation prize.
School director D P Galstaun, principal Seema Singh and vice-principal Anjana James were present at the event along with teachers and students.
CUSB: The Centre for Mass Communication and Media of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on Wednesday organized a guest lecture on ‘Role of Media in Wildlife Conservation’.
Environmentalist Faiyaz Ahmad Khudsar from Delhi University, who was the key speaker, said, “Humans have a tendency to kill every other living being that comes in their way without even knowing its importance in balancing the ecosystem. By killing rare species, human beings are actually heading towards their own destruction.”
He also talked about some important issues like water pollution and explained the ill-effects of polluting the Ganga.
Centre faculty members Kinshuk Pathak and Sujeet Kumar, among others attended the lecture. Head Atish Prashar presented the vote of thanks.
