RANCHI: Chief Minister Arjun Munda on Saturday filed his nomination papers from the Kharsawan assembly constituency.
A two-time winner from the constituency, Munda filed his documents in two sets before the SDO-cum-returning officer, Gundur Oraon, at the headquarters here.
Munda accompanied by his wife, Meera Munda, and four other BJP supporters came to the SDO''s chamber and filed his nomination.
A cavalcade of about 500 vehicles also accompanied him. But his supporters were had to stop at a distance keeping the EC''s directive in view.
On his way to the SDO''s office, the CM also offered prayers at the Akarshani temple.
Kharsawan is among the 29 constituencies going for polls in the second phase on February 15.
Munda, who won the seat in 1995 on a JMM ticket and retained it in the year 2000 assembly elections after joining the BJP, had defeated former Congress MP Bijoy Singh Soy on both the occasions.
The Congress is likely to field Soy''s widow, who had been gunned down at Chakradharpur five years ago, from Kharsawan.
