MoU signed to promote healthcare management

Patna: The Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Bodh Gaya on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for promotion of educational and research activities and launching courses in hospital and healthcare management.
Both the institutions agreed to explore new avenues in study and research in healthcare and exchange their faculty for advancement of knowledge in healthcare management.

The IGIMS superintendent Dr Manish Mandal said primary and secondary healthcare management and academic exchange programme would be undertaken jointly by the two institutions.
Postgraduate certificate and postgraduate diploma studies in healthcare and hospital management would be introduced as a joint initiative.
“Financial management of hospitals, application of artificial intelligence and information technology in health management would also be a part of the understanding,” Mandal said, adding that both the institutions will jointly organise conferences and seminars for sharing the knowledge.
Mandal said a variety of mutually relevant themes would be explored by IGIMS and IIM-Bodh Gaya as per the need of the modern industries.
Directors of IGIMS and IIM-Bodh Gaya Dr Binde Kumar and Prof Vinita Sahay, respectively, signed the MoU. Several doctors of IGIMS were present on the occasion.
