Prakash, son of Dinesh Prasad, and a resident of Jhaur village under Warsaliganj police station area, was a quack and he went missing since Friday night.
According to his family members, someone took him on a bike on the pretext of treatment, but he did not return to home. The next day, his body was found in a field at Markattha village under Giryak police station area of Nalanda district.
Prakash was first shot and then his face was crushed with bricks and stones to conceal his identity. Police said the body was sent to Biharsharif Sadar Hospital for postmortem. When Prakash’s disfigured body went viral, his family members recognised him.

The SHO said police are trying to find how Prakash’s body was found in Nalanda.
A missing persons report was filed at the Warisaliganj police on Saturday, but action was delayed, alleged the protesters. The villagers raised slogans accusing the police of inaction and also damaged several vehicles.
