MUNGER: Police found the body of one Subhash Tanti (4), son of
Suresh Tanti of Motiyatanr village under the Haveli Kharagpur police station area of Munger district, on Wednesday morning.
According to police sources, Subhash was reported missing from the time he went out to play with his friends near his house on Monday evening. His father lodged a missing complaint when the minor did not return home on Tuesday morning.
“Some villagers saw a jute bag near a government primary school on Wednesday morning. Foul smell was emanating from the bag which when opened had Subhash’s body inside. His hands had been tied with a rope and his mouth covered with a plastic tape. Police immediately took the body into its custody and sent it to the Munger sadar hospital for postmortem,” Haveli Kharagpur police station SHO Rajesh Rai said, adding the child was probably strangled.
Police have taken four members of a family — Rajesh Tanti, his wife Ambika Devi and their kin Ravi Kumar and Rishi Kumar — into their custody for interrogation. “Everything will be clear once the investigation begins. For now, personal enmity between the families of Suresh and Rajesh is stated to be the reason behind the minor’s murder,” the SHO said.
