ARA: An 8-year-old girl was allegedly shot dead at Bhelai village under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Aaradhya Singh. "The case seems to be suspicious and an investigation into the incident is going on to ascertain the reason of the murder," said Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar.
The SP told the media persons on Saturday that no blood stain was found on the spot. "The CCTV installed at the house was closed and it was started after seeing the police. An FSL team has been called and a probe is going on to identify the accused," he said.
"At 4am, the police were informed that Aaradhya had been shot at her shoulder and died later. A police team led by a trainee DSP reached the spot within five minutes and started investigation into the matter. The family members of the deceased told police that the incident occurred at 8.30pm on Friday, but they did not inform the police. When they took the girl to a private hospital, the doctors asked them to first report the incident to the police. However, the family members brought the injured girl to home and after midnight they took the girl to Sadar hospital, Ara, where the doctors declared her brought dead. After her death, they informed the police this morning."
