Patna: Armed criminals barged into a house and shot at a 40-year-old man and his sister under Janipur police station area of Patna district on Wednesday night.
According to police, the injured were identified as Anish Kumar alias Dilip Kumar and his sister Baby Kumari (30), residents of Hulas Chak. The woman sustained bullet injuries to her hand and chest, while her brother was shot in the leg. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and admitted both to AIIMS, where they are undergoing treatment.
Janipur police station in-charge, Balveer Prasad, said, "A case has been registered against two named accused, and raids are ongoing to nab them. An FSL team and dog squad was called to assist in the investigation. Two empty bullet shells were recovered from the spot. CCTV cameras installed in nearby areas are being scanned to identify the assailants. The accused men were acquaintances of the victims. The reason behind the firing is not clear yet."
Baby works as a daily wage worker at IGIMS. Both victims are natives of Arwal district and have been living in Patna for the past few years.
