Man shoots self in Bhojpur
Ara: A 30-year-old man, Vishwajeet Singh, shot himself in the chest at Devki Singh Ka Tola village under the Jagdishpur police station area in Bhojpur district on Sunday evening. He was first taken to Jagdishpur Referral Hospital, then to Sadar Hospital, Ara, before being referred to PMCH for better treatment.
Dr Rishi, an on-duty doctor at the emergency ward of sadar hospital, "Singh shot himself at close range in the chest. The bullet pierced through the bones of his back. His left hand is also not functioning due to the gunshot injuries."
Bhojpur SP Raj said, "A man has shot himself and is undergoing treatment. The police are investigating how he procured the illegal firearm."
Though police have not confirmed whether he was mentally unstable, his brother, Sarvajeet Singh, said, "My brother was suffering from depression and had been receiving treatment at BIMHAS, Koelwar, for the last two years."
