Man kills uncle by slitting throat in Vaishali village

Patna: A 50-year-old man was killed after his nephew allegedly slit his throat during a violent attack at Bahuara village under Baranti police station limits in Vaishali district on Monday. The victim was identified as Mehtab Lal, a mason, who had been staying at home due to illness for the past five years. Police arrested the accused nephew, Manjay Kumar, who confessed to his crime during interrogation.


According to a statement issued by Vaishali Police, the accused told police that he attacked his uncle because he used to call him ‘mad’. Family members said the assailant struck the victim repeatedly on the neck, hands, legs and other parts of the body for around half an hour, leading to death on the spot. The victim’s wife, Shakuli Devi, was also attacked when she tried to intervene and was admitted to hospital. The accused will be sent to jail after production in court on Tuesday.”
