GAYA: A man allegedly killed his four-month-old twin sons in a fit of rage at Magadh Colony under Magadh Medical police station area in Gaya late Wednesday evening. The accused, identified as Devesh Sharma, has been absconding after the incident, police said.
According to police, the accused, an autorickshaw driver, was having troubled relation with his wife Rani Devi over the alleged illicit relationship of her with some other man. Angry over this, he not only thrashed Rani on Wednesday, but also tried to wash the vermilion from her partings.
"I was serving dinner to younger brother of my husband in the evening. Devesh suddenly got angry over this and started thrashing me. When I resisted his bid, he banged our twin boys on the ground, resulting in their death on the spot. He often used to assault me over petty issues," Rani alleged.
On getting informed, the police recovered the bodies and sent them for postmortem at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMCH). "Mother of the two children has lodged a written complaint against her husband Devesh Sharma. The accused will be arrested soon as the raids have been intensified," said deputy superintendent of police (law and order) Md Khurshid Alam.
