Man killed by wife and her paramour

Patna: A man was allegedly brutally beaten and then strangled by his wife and her paramour in Samastipur district on Saturday. His body was recovered from his home. The incident took place in Lagunia Raghukant Goriyari Ward 46 of the Mufassil police station area. The deceased's wife has been taken into custody while her paramour is on the run, police said.According to the police, the deceased was identified as Sonu Kumar Jha (30). The murder is alleged to have been committed by his wife, Asmita Kumari (27), and her paramour, Hari Om Jha (25).Sonu's father, Tuntun Jha, said, "The couple married in 2019 and had a four-year-old son and a two-year-old daughter. Hari Om used to come home for tuition to the little boy. Meanwhile, Asmita and Hari Om developed an illicit relationship. When the affair was discovered, the husband once beat Asmita and forbade Hari Om from tutoring."The father recounted that Sonu did not return home by midnight, and he fell asleep waiting. In the morning, when he woke up, he saw Sonu's e-rickshaw parked at the door. When there was no response from inside, he went in and found Sonu lying on the ground, bleeding from his mouth. He was only in undergarments, with multiple injuries on his body, and there were signs of strangulation, he alleged.When asked, his wife Asmita said there was an argument between them at night, and Hari Om came around 1.30 am. However, she claimed not to know how Sonu died. The back door of the house was open.Sadar ASP, Sanjay Pandey, said, "It is a case of murder. There were bruises on several parts of the deceased's body. A strangulation mark was also observed on his neck. The woman has been arrested. Raids are being carried out to nab Hari Om. He was tutoring the children for the past year, but Sonu removed him a few days ago."
