PATNA: Magadh Mahila College website has received a makeover. The new website is based on Web 2.0 technology, which uses user-generated content very much like any other social media site.
Sources said the college website is mobile-friendly as well. Students can also take admission online. A button is provided on its home page, which when clicked would direct the student to Patna University’s page for PU Combined Eligibility Test.
“The site will be updated on a daily basis so that students are kept abreast with new notifications.
An enquiry system has also been created on the website where students as well as general public can submit their queries or complaints. The queries will be received through mail to the college,” said a college source. The site has been developed by a Patna-based software company.
The company’s director, Ashutosh Kumar, said the website also supports unicode along with search engine optimization (SEO). “The site has been created to provide better experience to its users with easy navigation. It is also very easy to update the site. We are providing assistance in maintaining the site as of now,” he said and added that for daily update and immediate response to enquiries, the website requires a team of dedicated staff.
BCom third year students Manisha Raj, Madhu Lata, Grace Rani and Kajal Gupta were happy with the updated site. “We will not have to visit the college for a simple information, if the site is updated every day,” says Manisha. Grace says it will become easier to complain to the principal about the deplorable condition of toilets.
Priyanka Kumari of Kankarbagh, who is planning to take admission in the college for BCA degree, finds the website very helpful as apart from the various departments, courses and number of seats available, it also lists the different societies in the college. “With the online admission option, it will be much easier to fill up forms. We wouldn’t have to run in the sun,” she said.
