LPG shortage may affect Ram Rasoi services in Ayodhya
Patna: The Ram Rasoi, Naivedyam and Daridra Narayan Bhoj organised in Ayodhya by the Mahavir Mandir Temple in Patna, a prominent temple and charitable institution, are facing a possible shortage of LPG cylinders that may disrupt daily religious and charitable activities.
The temple serves thousands of devotees every day and provides free meals to hundreds of people through its Ram Rasoi and Daridra Narayan Bhoj initiatives.
To address the situation, the temple administration is exploring alternative cooking arrangements such as induction stoves, biogas and electric cookers. The temple has assured that its essential services, including Daridra Narayan Bhoj and Naivedyam Prasad, will continue without interruption.
Mahavir Sthan Nyas Samiti secretary Sayan Kunal said, “The problem will be resolved soon by making alternative arrangements. Alternative arrangements for induction, biogas, steam-based cooking and electric cookers are being made so that Ram Rasoi and Daridra Narayan Bhojan can be provided to people on time and regularly. Along with this, Naivedyam can also be prepared as required.”
He added that additional steps were being taken to deal with the situation. However, if the gas supply is not restored on Saturday, Daridra Narayan Bhojan will be served only once a day instead of twice. The situation will continue until alternative arrangements are fully implemented or the gas supply returns to normal.
Normally, Ram Rasoi provides meals three times a day, but currently the service has been reduced to two times daily, Kunal added.
Thousands of Ram devotees eat at Ram Rasoi every day. At the Hanuman Mandir in Patna, around 600 to 800 people are served food twice daily under the Daridra Narayan Bhoj initiative. Both services are provided free of cost.
Ram Rasoi and Daridra Narayan Bhoj were started by Padma Shri Acharya Kishor Kunal, and the services have continued uninterrupted since then. Kunal said efforts are being made to ensure that none of the services are affected due to the cooking gas shortage.
