CHHAPRA: Angered by her lover's repeated refusal to enter into wedlock, a woman allegedly sedated and bobbitised him and flushed the body part in the toilet in Saran district on Monday morning.
The incident came into light after 28-year-old Ved Prakash Singh, alias Vikas, writhing in pain, sought help from locals. Police arrested Abhilasha (32), while Vikas is undergoing treatment in a hospital here.
Vikas is a ward councillor of Marhoura nagar panchayat and native of Purani Bazar at Marhaura in Saran district.
Abhilasha used to run a private nursing home at Marhaura. A native of Kartaha Buzurg village in Vaishali district, she was apparently helped by Vikas to set up the nursing home.
Locals said they were in a live-in relationship.
"A case has been registered under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) that has come into force from Monday," said Saran SP, Kumar Ashish.
He added that an FSL team has been roped in to probe the case.
On Monday, Abhilasha asked Vikas to visit the nursing home. Once he arrived, Abhilasha injected him with a sedative and when he fell unconscious, she bobbitised him. She then flushed the body part into the toilet, police said.
Abhilasha apparently told those present that despite agreeing to marry her and 7-8 dates having been fixed, Vikas never turned up for their wedding. She alleged that Vikas had promised to marry her even on Monday, and accordingly she had made preparations. But when he refused to tie the knot, she decided to teach him a lesson.
Police sources said Vikas is out of danger and has been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) for treatment.
