‘Litti-chokha’ to be served on platter

Patna: Any event in the state is incomplete without 'litti-chokha' and same goes for the big opposition meet scheduled for June 23. Guests, who comprise senior non-BJP leaders from across the nation, will be offered a variety of Bihari cuisines, apart from other food items. These guests will also be given a warm welcome as state ministers have been tasked with receiving them at the city airport, sources said.According to a senior JD(U) leader, some of the guests will stay at the state guest house or Hotel Chanakya, and then will go to CM Nitish Kumar's residence for the meeting, followed by a lunch hosted by the CM. “Litti-chokha is there in the menu, apart from delicacies from different parts of Bihar, especially sweet dishes,” said party's senior leader KC Tyagi, admitting that ‘litti-chokha’ was one of the CM's favourites. Tyagi said he would also like Champaran meat to be included in the menu.Tyagi called this meeting the biggest one after the JP Movement in Bihar. "Though a large number of leaders had come in the swearing in ceremony in 2015, this meeting has a big objective and all the parties have decided to fight together against the BJP," he said.However, senior BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said the opposition leaders would only get ‘litti-chokha’ in Bihar and not the votes. "Nitish Kumar Ji has also gone to different places and tried all sorts of cuisines while venturing everywhere, so he has to offer them and they are welcome to our state.
