Liquor worth Rs 75 lakh seized in Patna, Nalanda districts

) worth Rs 75 lakh in two separate raids in Patna and Nalanda districts over the past 48 hours.

in Patna, police once again recovered 500 cartons of IMFL from the same area on Saturday. Patna

Manu Maharaaj said the seized liquor was worth Rs 70 lakh in retail market. The police had seized 10,500 litres IMFL worth at least Rs 1.5 crore from the same area on October 22.

Although, no one was arrested, the SSP said Sunil Kumar and Nandu Kumar were involved in smuggling liquor from other states. He said while Sunil is brother of Anil Kumar Gupta, who was arrested by the excise officials a week back from his godown, Nandu is the owner of the godown from where the liquor was seized.

Meanwhile. a team of Nalanda police led by SP Kumar Ashish on Friday night recovered over 500 litres of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth more than Rs 5 lakh from a brick kiln at Balwapar village under Tharthari police station area. However, no one has been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Ashish said the operator of the brick kiln, Pramod Yadav, a resident of the same village and his three other accomplices – Rameshwar Mahto, Shrawan Kumar and

– are yet to be arrested.
