Buxar: The prohibition, excise and registration department (excise) recovered a large quantity of liquor from a truck found abandoned along the Buxar-Chausa road on Monday.
No arrest has been made in this regard and the police are initiating legal action against the owner of the truck. The estimated value of the recovered liquor is over Rs6 lakh.
Excise superintendent Ashraf Jamal said on Monday a truck was spotted parked in a suspicious manner on the roadside—approximately 100 meters from a fuel station near the Dani Kutiya turn on Chausa-Buxar main road under Buxar muffasil police station area. He said an unidentified person alerted the authorities, reporting that the truck was loaded with liquor.
Later, a team led by inspector Priyanka Kumari, seized the liquor. The owner of the vehicle was identified from the truck’s registration number, he said.
