PATNA: The Left parties in the state have joined hands to protest against the proposed land acquisition Bill of the NDA government at the Centre and will organize a march-cum-dharna at Kargil Chowk here on Saturday.
At a joint meeting of the state leaders of CPI (ML) Liberation, CPI, CPM and SUCI, the Left parties on Friday also decided to contest jointly for the local bodies' seats of Bihar legislative polls to be held in June.

"The Narendra Modi-led government wants to impose company rule on India. The non-consent clause is against the interest of farmers," ML state secretary Kunal said with reference to the land Bill.
The Left leaders also targeted CM Nitish Kumar, saying he was only pretending to protest the Bill in Bihar. "Nitish Kumar-led government has acquired land in many districts such as Bhagalpur, Begusarai and Bhojpur without the consent of farmers. No agro-based industries have been established on the acquired land," the Left leaders alleged.
CPI state secretary Satyanarayan Singh, CPM state secretary Awadhesh Kumar, ML politburo member Dhirendra Jha and SUCI state secretary Shivshankar Singh were among those present at the meeting. "The unseasonal rain has affected the crops of many farmers in the state and the government should compensate their losses at the rate of Rs 25,000 per acre. The Left front is committed to Bihar's development and will emerge as an alternative to JD (U) and BJP in the state," the leaders asserted.
