Left parties for formation of anti-BJP front

PATNA: The

Left parties

on Saturday decided to concentrate on forming a viable anti-BJP political combine under the umbrella of the

Mahagathbandhan

(Grand Alliance) in the state.


“Instead of wasting our energy on seat-sharing talks, we are concentrating on bringing all the anti-BJP forces on one platform to defeat the NDA in next year’s

Lok Sabha

election,” senior state functionary of CPI (M) Sarvodaya Sharma said.

“We have no doubts that the other parties in the Grand Alliance will recognize the fact that the BJP and its partners cannot be defeated without the support of the Left parties,” CPI (ML) politburo member Dhirendra Kumar Jha said.

The Left parties have decided to take up a three-pronged action programme in the immediate future. There will be dharnas, processions, ‘nukkad’ meetings and demonstrations by the Left parties on December 6. “Twenty-six years ago, the Babri

We will observe this day to underscore the need to save the country’s Constitution and secularism,” CPI state secretary Satya Narayan Singh said, adding CM Nitish and deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi had “no moral right” to continue in office due to the prevailing situation in the state.
