The Bihar State Bar Council on Saturday gave a call to lawyers to abstain from court work for a week from February 15 to 21 across the state in protest against introduction and continuation of evening courts in 29 sessions courts in the state.

PATNA: The Bihar State Bar Council on Saturday gave a call to lawyers to abstain from court work for a week from February 15 to 21 across the state in protest against introduction and continuation of evening courts in 29 sessions courts in the state.
The call was given following a unanimous decision of the bar council members at a meeting on Saturday to discuss the continuation of evening courts.

The Bar Council noted that the Patna High Court had not communicated to it any decision regarding withdrawal of the evening courts which came into operation from December 6, said State Bar Council chairman Baleshwar Prasad Sharma.
Sharma said that on February 19, the State Bar Council will hold meeting of the presidents and secretaries of 113 lawyers' associations from across the state to take stock of the situation and decide the future course of action.
