CRPF recovered two landmines each weighing 7kg, detonators and wires from Dhansa area under Rohtas police station area on Tuesday.

Patna: CRPF recovered two landmines each weighing 7kg, detonators and wires from Dhansa area under Rohtas police station area on Tuesday. Three cane bombs and detonators were also seized from Deo village in Aurangabad district.
CRPF IG Arun Kumar said a bomb disposal team was sent to defuse the landmines. Maoists had supposedly placed the landmines to inflict heavy casualty on the central forces during their movement for the second phase of polls slated for October 16.

CRPF personnel are extra cautious while moving in those areas. He said a bagful of ammonium nitrate, an important chemical for making explosives, was also seized from Dewania village under Barachatti police station area of Gaya district.
CRPF officials confirmed that the landmines were placed by the Maoists. In fact the second phase election is most challenging for the security forces. They have been strictly asked not to move on heavy vehicles. The state government has provided 2,000 motorcycles to the central armed police force for effective patrolling and neutralizing the Left wing extremists.
Informed sources said Maoists, of late, are trying to revive their traditional stronghold in Jehanabad and Arwal districts. It is evident from the fact that about six cylinder bombs were seized from Sandesh (Arwal) about ten days back. CRPF has also got information that Maoists’ important functionary Pradyuman Sharma is trying hard to recover the lost area. CRPF has also stepped up their activity in Arwal and Jehanabad, they added.
