In a five-second video posted on social media by Lalu's eldest daughter and Rajya Sabha MP Misa Bharti, the 74-year-old could be seen waving his hands. "It is our father's liveliness and your prayers that he is recovering fast even after such a major surgery. He knows that you all are praying for him and this is working like a medicine for him. Grateful to all," Misa tweeted while addressing Lalu's supporters and party workers.

Tejashwi also kept updating people about his father's health. "After successful kidney transplant, papa has been shifted to the ICU from operation theatre. Donor and elder sister Rohini Acharya is also fine," he posted on a social media platform.
