PATNA: Weeks after HAM(S) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi returning to the NDA fold, the opposition Mahagathbandhan is all set to lose another ally with Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) president Upendra Kushwaha ready to return to the alliance in power.
RLSP sources indicated on Thursday that Kushwaha has made up his mind to severe ties with the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan. The formal announcement will be made by Kushwaha “in the next couple of days”, sources said.
“The grand alliance is in tatters.
There is no hope left for further discussion. Time is running out and we cannot wait for talks with the grand alliance,” RLSP national secretary-general Madhav Anand said.
Kushwaha had exited the NDA in December 2018 to join the RJD-led alliance to contest the 2019 parliamentary election and the upcoming assembly polls. Sources said he also saw himself as the “CM-in-waiting” as a result of which he constantly pilloried CM Nitish Kumar.
