PATNA: Notorious criminal Raju Yadav was paraded on the roads in Digha area only in his undergarments by the police on Wednesday. According to eyewitnesses, he also carried his slippers in his hands and kept repeating "main chor hun".
Raju Yadav, alleged to be involved in at least 30 cases of murder and kidnapping, was arrested by the police on Tuesday.
Soon after his arrest, Raju''s supporters launched an ‘agitation’ in the Digha area against the police.
Early Wednesday morning, trouble began in Digha area when Raju''s supporters blocked the road near Bata factory Mor.
The police chased them and beat them up. The police also entered the houses belonging to Raju''s supporters and beat them up. "Raju had unleashed a reign of terror in the Digha area.�
“This was necessary for removing the fear created by him among the residents in this area," said a senior police officer.
According to him, Raju was also involved in advocate Jitendra Singh''s murder case and kidnapping of a boy, Guddu.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested ten supporters of Raju in connection with Wednesday''s incident when his supporters blocked the road.
