PATNA: The man kidnapped from Muzaffarpur on Friday for Rs30 lakh ransom was rescued by the special investigation team (SIT) in Bhojpur on Saturday but the police failed to trace 13-year-old Tusar Kumar, who was abducted from his Kanhauli village under Bihta police station area in Patna district for Rs40 lakh ransom Thursday evening.
The 26-year-old Vivek Kumar, son of Dr Suresh Prasad Singh, was kidnapped around 4.30pm by miscreants in an SUV from outside his house near Naya Chowk under Kanti police station area in Muzaffarpur allegedly for ransom.
Four persons involved in the crime were arrested by the SIT led by DSP (West) Abhishek Anand.
Muzaffarpur SSP Rakesh Kumar said Vivek was rescued from Bhojpur’s Garhani area. Four persons, including the main conspirator Ravi Kumar from Arwal, who lives as a renter at Dr Singh’s house and work as a grade IV employee at NTPC, were arrested . “Based on the technical evidences, Ravi was detained last evening,” he told TOI. “The other three accused were identified as the SUV driver, Radheshyam Yadav (26), Chandan and Satyam, all residents of Bhojpur,” the SSP said. Meanwhile, there was no headway in the kidnapping case of Tusar Kumar, son of teacher Raj Kishore Pandit of Kanhauli.
Charred body found in Bihta: The police on Saturday recovered a charred body in the forest area near Khedalpura village under Bihta police station area. The body could not be identified, Danapur DSP Abhinav Dhiman said.
