DUMKA: Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi unfurled the Tricolour on the occasion of the 54th Republic Day at the Police Line ground here on Sunday. Several jhankis were also taken out by various departments and schools. However, the locals were disappointed by the CM's speech. Marandi dwelt more on achievements of his government than any concrete future programme for the development of the town. Marandi said hostels had been constructed for school students in every sub-division and the government had given assistance to the students pursuing technical courses. He also said that UGC pay scales had been given to teachers. The CM reiterated the government's commitment to the upliftment of the poor.
