Jewellery worth ₹10 lakh looted by six criminals from Gopalganj shop

Around six armed criminals looted a jewellery shop in Goaplganj district and decamped with ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh in broad daylight on Sunday. The assailants shot at a hotel owner, who tried to catch the fleeing robbers.

Patna: Around six armed criminals looted a jewellery shop in Goaplganj district and decamped with ornaments worth Rs 10 lakh in broad daylight on Sunday. The assailants shot at a hotel owner, who tried to catch the fleeing robbers.
The incident took place at Mansha Jewellers, located at Nai Bazaar under the Manjhagarh police station area, when masked robbers on three bikes reached the shop and held the customers and shopkeepers hostage on gun-point. According to police, four customers and three shopkeepers including the shopowner were at the shop when the incident occurred. The entire incident of loot was captured in the CCTV cameras installed inside the shop.
Manjhagarh police station in charge Ravikant Dubey said the incident took place around 2.30pm on Sunday, when six miscreants wearing masks and helmets entered the shop. “According to the owner, Prayag Soni, the robbers looted jewellery worth Rs 10 lakh which was kept in the locker. All the criminals had weapons in their hands,” he added.
“When the robbers were trying to escape on their bikes, some locals chased and tried to catch them. The miscreants fired in the air and one person sustained a bullet injury. The victim has been identified as Sunil Sah of Pipra village, who runs a hotel. He was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital and after first-aid was referred to the medical facility at Gorakhpur,” Dubey said.He said: “Police are scrutinizing the CCTV footages to identify the miscreants. Raids are on to arrest them.”
Mini gun factory unearthed: Meanwhile, a special team of Bihar STF has busted a mini gun factory at Jakkanpur in the state capital on Sunday during a raid at a house. According to sources, the raid was conducted at Suresh Yadav's house in New Vigrahapur under Jakkanpur police station area and a mini gun factory was found.
The raiding team has arrested two persons, who have been identified as Vikram Sharma, son of Rajendra Sharma, resident of Makspur in Munger and Bajrangi Kumar Sharma, son of Shriram Sharma, resident of Vigrahapur. Several semi-finished weapons have been also recovered from the house.
According to the information received, 22 semi-finished pistols of 7.65 mm, drill machine, cartridge of 7.65 mm and many other weapon-making equipment were recovered from the accused.
