According to police, the MLA’s vehicle was at high speed when the tractor suddenly appeared in front of it, leaving the driver with no time to react. The impact severely damaged the vehicle’s front and caused chaos on the road.
On receiving information, a team from Mufassil police station reached the spot and began rescue work. The accident-damaged vehicle was removed, and traffic was normalised.
The MLA and other injured passengers were admitted to a private hospital in Khagaria for primary treatment, after which Mehta left for Patna.
Mufassil SHO Amarjeet Pratap Singh said, “The cause of the accident is being investigated. In the preliminary probe, high speed and the tractor suddenly appearing in front of the car are being considered the main reasons for the accident.”
