Maheshwar Hazari, a JD(U) leader, has resigned from his position as the deputy speaker of the Bihar assembly. The resignation came into effect on February 21. Hazari, who had been serving as the deputy speaker since March 2021, did not provide any explanation for his decision. He is a second-term MLA from the reserved Kalyanpur assembly constituency. Previously, Hazari was a minister in the Nitish Kumar cabinet.

PATNA: JD(U) leader Maheshwar Hazari has resigned from the post of deputy speaker of the Bihar assembly, according to the Vidhan Sabha secretariat.
The resignation came into effect on February 21. Hazari, a second-term MLA from the reserved Kalyanpur assembly constituency, had been serving as the deputy speaker since March 2021.
The reason behind his decision to resign is currently unknown.
