PATNA: An ITBP jawan was arrested in Muzaffarpur on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting his wife and eight-month-old daughter. The accused was identified as Nippu Kumar, a resident of Koilwar in Bhojpur district. His wife Priyanka Kumari had filed a case of dowry harassment against him.
SHO of Mahila police station, Muzaffarpur, Neeru Kumari, said Priyanka had lodged an FIR against her husband and in-laws on June 7. “She had accused her husband, brothers-in-law Dhaneshwar Maharaj, Rishabh and Manish Maharaj, mother-in-law Meera Devi, and sisters-in-law Honey and Gudiya Devi of assaulting her and her daughter,” she said.
Engineer held: The Patna police on Tuesday arrested a software engineer on charges of blackmailing a woman after taking her obscene photos. The accused was identified as Avinash Kumar, a resident of Alamganj. The victim, mother of three kids, had filed a rape case with the Rajiv Nagar police station against Avinash on June 12.
