PATNA: LitFest, the third annual interschool cultural festival organised by Litera Valley School, began with an eclectic mix of challenging and engaging contests on Thursday.
Altogether 18 city schools are participating in the three-day festival. The competitions on the opening day included character dramatization, solo singing, English poetry writing, tweet-size story writing, Hindi story writing and t-shirt painting.
Students of host school presented ‘Durga Stuti’ and ‘Tandava’, followed by the school musical band performance.
Jesus and Mary Academy: Tanvi Raj and Isha Kumari on Thursday emerged as the winners of a diya-making competition organised by Jesus and Mary Academy in junior and senior categories, respectively.
Shaurya Nandan and Shubjeet Singh bagged second and third prizes, respectively, in junior category. Riya Sharma got second prize in senior category and Khushi Kumari bagged third prize. Students also participated in competitions and used glitters, florescent papers to decorate their models.
The team of Roshan Raj, Aniket and Rohit won the house-making competition in senior category while in senior category, the team of Shreya, Shasha and Puneet was declared the winner.
Kidzee: Around 120 students of Kidzee Preschool-Sandalpur on Thursday visited several orphanages in the city along with their teachers. The students donated some items to children living in orphanages. “Our objective was to inculcate compassion among students so that they remain concerned about the needs of other people,” said Kirti Payal.
