‘India should strike Pak’

Centre Must Take A Lesson From Israel, Says Seer
‘India should strike Pak’
PATNA: Naneejidham-based Dakshin Peeth seer Swami Narendracharya Maharaj from Ratnagiri (Maharashtra) said here on Sunday that Delhi should adopt the stance of a hard state like Israel for tackling the menace of cross border terrorism. He felt that the country should unilaterally strike at targets in Pakistan if any terror incident takes place in the country.
The Dakshin Peeth seer insisted that Indo-Pak talks had proved to be futile, and in fact, were meaningless, when terrorists were unrelenting in striking at places and targets to kill innocent people and also hit at the scientific and economic bases of the country.

“What `shanti varta (talks for peace)’? Talks have failed. We want the Indian government to strike them 100 per cent,” the seer said, adding: “Ham talks karte hain, wey ghamashan karte hain (We opt for peace talks, but they indulge only in causing bloodshed).”
Talking mostly in Hindu-Muslim terms and relations, the seer appealed to Hindus to get united, and listen to religious discourses every week as they do in Islam and Christianity. “They are more organized. They have institutional framework for prayer. They are united because they have such a framework,” the seer, who was earlier in UP to participate in `kumbh’ and has been touring the country, said while addressing a press conference here.
The Naneejidham seer was opposed to “all kinds of reservations”, and favoured only “economic criteria for reservation.” Swami Narendracharya said that people should rise over their caste denominations for the Hindus “to stand united.”
He did not uphold Baba Ramdeo joining politics, since he felt that “sadhu-sant should not join politics, but, instead, should function to “put pressure to keep the Hindus united.” He said that the BJP was rejected by people during the 2004 parliamentary polls, because it did not keep the promise made regarding construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, Uniform Civil Code, and Ram Setu. He said that Babri Masjid could be demolished only because there was `mook sahmati (silent concurrence)’ of former “Congress” prime minister P V Narasimha Rao.
“If the BJP or any political party declares to work for Ram Mandir and Hindu uplift, they will get our 100 per cent support,” he said, adding: “We will support even the Congress. Hindus have become a minority even in our country. They should be declared a minority.”
