In a first, 10 PPU colleges too get principals through lottery system

Patna: Like Patna University, Patliputra University (PPU) too notified the posting of new principals at 10 of its constituent colleges located in Patna and Nalanda districts through a lottery system on Wednesday, according to vice-chancellor (VC) Upendra Prasada Singh. "This comes after a long wait for permanent principal postings. Out of the 19 vacant principal posts across the university's constituent colleges, 10 have now been filled," the VC said.Among them, BD College, Mithapur, in Patna will get Ratna Amrit — history professor at A N College and the wife of development commissioner Pratyay Amrit — as its new principal.Similarly, Sunita Roy, wife of former Chief Justice of Jharkhand high court Ravi Ranjan, has been allotted MM College, Bikram, located on the outskirts of the city, while Sunita Sinha, daughter of former HoD of English department at Patna University R K Sinha, will be the new principal of Nalanda College, Biharsharif. Among other postings, Rekha Rani, a professor of Sanskrit at BD College, will be the new principal of A N College, Vijay Laxmi the new principal of Ganga Devi Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Patna, and Diwakar Prasad will be the new principal of R K D College, Lohia Nagar, in the capital city. Akhilesh Kumar has been posted at M D College, Naubatpur, while Shyamdeo Paswan has been allotted BS College, Danapur. Nalanda's Kisan College, Sohsarai, will get Dibhanshu Kumar as its new principal, while Anand Prakash Gupta will be the new principal of Government Degree College, Rajgir. The newly appointed principals have been directed to join their respective colleges within three months from the date of the notification. Each principal will serve a tenure of five years starting from the date of joining. According to PPU's dean of students' welfare Rajeev Ranjan, the appointments were based on the recommendation of Bihar State University Service Commission, via a letter dated April 16, and subsequent approval from the state govt on April 24.
