on Thursday launched a fortnight-long vaccination drive to immunise milch cattle against the 'foot and mouth'disease.
Singh
launched the statewide programme at a function held on the premises of
Bairagibag High School
at
Masaurhi
in Patna district. He appealed to cattle owners to avail of the facility to get their cows and buffaloes immunised.
He said cattle owners should cooperate with vaccine agents who would move door to door during the drive till September 30. Preparations are also afoot to launch an extensive vaccination drive to immunise goats, he added.
Among senior officials present on the occasion of the launch, director (animal husbandry)
Radheshyam Sah
gave the details of the programme and its usefulness for the farmers engaged in cattle rearing in the state.
Several senior veterinary doctors associated with animal and cattle health were also present at the function organised to launch the vaccination drive for cows and buffaloes.
