Patna: The Dussehra festivities are likely to proceed without the interruption of rain for the next two days, as per the forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
However, the weather is expected to take a turn afterward. An increase in rainfall and thunderstorms is anticipated around Sept 29, which coincides with Saptami.
The IMD’s forecast suggests rain and thunderstorm with lightning might return due to the monsoon withdrawal phase. According to Anand Shanker, a weather scientist at the IMD in Patna, the current conditions are a result of interactions between westerly and easterly.
Meanwhile, the weather forecast said heavy rain is likely to occur in Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya and Nawada on Thursday.
The maximum temperatures are likely to increase by one to three degrees Celsius in most of the districts in the next 24 hours, and remain unchanged thereafter. No major change in the minimum temperature will occur for the next three to four days.
